Where to get photos for the webiste

Not everyone has the opportunity to have professional photos for their website. This problem often affects novice webmasters and website owners. So where can we legally get photos for our own website? Below are examples of websites that you can safely use.

5 websites with free photos

Pixabay.com – one of the largest and most popular websites offering free photos. The photos are of varying quality – from amateur to professional, which may take a while to find the photo you are interested in. We do not have to provide the source of the photo (Pixabay has its own licensing rules, which are worth familiarizing yourself with), but we can thank the author of the photo by making a voluntary donation.

Pexels.com – a service offering photos shared by authors using the Creative Commons Zero mechanism. Additionally, the service notes that “There is no need to provide a source. Advertising the photographer or the Pexels service is not a requirement, but it would be appreciated.” Interestingly, in its description, the service suggests the possibilities of using photos, including in commercial projects. However, it is important to remember not to sell unmodified copies of a photo or video recording (we must enrich them with our own materials, e.g. create a collage).

ISO Republic – if you don’t find what you’re looking for on the above-mentioned sites, you can also browse ISO Republic. Some of the photos are really good quality, and at the same time you’ll get suggestions for others from the commercial Shutterstock site.

Burst – an interesting alternative. A service run by Shopify and dedicated to entrepreneurs who are looking for free photos for business use. For the user’s convenience, the photos are catalogued, among others, by type of business. A service worth visiting!

Kaboom pictures – a bit less popular, but perfect for webmasters. The site offers not only free photos, but also publishes a color scheme for each photo. A very interesting addition that distinguishes Kaboom from other sites.

We invite you to explore the world of free photography and at the same time encourage you to upload your own to enrich such services.
