At Smarthost.eu, you can renew your services for the next period as early as 28 days before expires. This allows clients to make payments before the service expires and avoid additional costs related to changes in prices for expired domains. Additionally, email reminders are sent out.

Domain .pl

If payment is not made for a .pl domain by the expiration date, the domain enters an “expired” status. A domain in this status can still be renewed, but the renewal price differs from the regular renewal price. After 30 days, the domain returns to the pool of available domains and can be registered again.

Global domains (.com, .org, .biz, .info)

For global domains, once the domain expires, it enters a “Grace Period” status for the next 30 days. The renewal cost during this period is higher than the standard renewal price. If the domain is not renewed within these 30 days, it then moves to the “Redemption Period” status for approximately another 30 days. The cost of renewing a domain in this status is significantly higher compared to the standard renewal fee. The final stage is the return of the domain to the pool of available domains, where it can be registered again.

European domain (.eu)

If a .eu domain is not renewed by the expiration date, it enters a “Grace Period” status for 40 days. During this time, the domain can be renewed. After the 40-day period, the .eu domain will return to the pool of available domains and can be registered again.

Every domain can be registered/renewed for a minimum period of one year (365 days).

Can an expired domain be transferred?

For .pl domains, such a transfer is possible. You will need an auth-info code, just like in a standard transfer. However, to initiate the transfer, you will also need to pay for the expired domain.

For global domains (.com, .org, .biz), the procedure is similar, but obtaining the auth-info code for an expired global domain depends on the registrar.
