The Omnibus Directive is an EU regulation designed to strengthen consumer protection across the European Union. Poland has enforced it as law since January 1, 2023, requiring store owners to ensure greater transparency in sales, especially in promotional activities.
One major change mandates displaying the lowest product price from the last 30 days to prevent deceptive, artificially inflated promotions. WooCommerce stores don’t include this feature by default, but plugins can help meet the requirement.
Omnibus Plugins for WordPress
Here’s an overview of plugins that can help implement the display of the lowest product price from the last 30 days. The review includes both free and paid solutions, allowing store owners to choose the best option for their needs.
Free Plugins
Among the free WordPress plugins, one of the first was developed by Marcin Pietrzak – Omnibus – Show the Lowest Price. Plugin including: saves and saves the current product price, adds two additional fields in the product or course edition view – for the lowest price and effective date. It is worth emphasizing that the plugin will not work with PHP versions that are no longer supported (e.g. 7.4).
The second recommended plugin is WC Price History by Konrad Karpieszuk. With this plugin, you can:
- Display price history information in specific areas of your store, such as the single product page, category pages, or the main store page.
- Decide when to show the minimum price and how to calculate it.
- Hide the price or set a custom message when the price remains unchanged.
Its extensive features make it one of the best solutions available.
Paid Plugin
Another great option is Omnibus WooCommerce by WP Desk. This plugin tracks and displays the lowest product prices in WooCommerce for the past 30 days, including the date when each price was active. As of February 4, 2025, the plugin costs 149 PLN (net) per year for a single-site license.
However, simply installing a plugin won’t fully adapt your online store to the Omnibus Directive. You must also update your terms and conditions to comply with the new regulations. Still, Omnibus plugins play a crucial role in displaying price history, ensuring transparency in price-based promotions, including discount codes in WooCommerce.
